We must obey God rather than man.
Its all about the convection that the apostle had at this time.
Remember they was weak in their faith at one point. Now with the power of the holy spirit within them they stood bold and giving it all for Christ.
The desire to serve God was more important than anything. They new who they belong to and the benefits that they had in Christ.
We come today to say be bold and be strong in you life for CHRIST HE died that the entire world even yourself could have everlasting life. He gave his life in order for us to be free. Free to have hope and power. The hope we have in our life not in fear of this world system but a hope in the glory of God. This is now and in the world to come. Those who confess and believe in Christ God gives them to be his children. We are a part of Gods family. We have the power of God within us to do his will and not obey any orders of man that might interrupt our relationships with God.
By Christ death we can have that closeness to God in a personal way.
This is why the apostles said what they did. We can’t stop teaching what we know.
Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins.
Acts 5:29-31 NIV
To bring again peope to repentance and forgive their sins.
Two things to see here repentance and forgiveness of their sins.
The repentance (metanoia) called for throughout the Bible is a summons to a personal, absolute and ultimate unconditional surrender to God as Sovereign. Though it includes sorrow and regret, it is more than that. … In repenting, one makes a complete change of direction (180° turn) toward God.
Forgiveness of sins is the washing away. Leaving it behind. Forgetting it no longer an issue.
See why the apostles had to teach and spread the message of Christ.
Peolpe could be made right before God in this everlasting covenant. Complete turn around.
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
Acts 5:32 NIV
What a powerful statement God give the holy spirit to those who obey him. And since they are now empowered to do the work for God than it must be done and carry out as in Acts 1
Just in this chapter alone we have seen alot going on
From death to victory. From doing wrong to doing what is right. In this chapter 5 we see miracles done on a great way and in a bad way. It come down to it all is living for God with a full heart and obey his truth and his teaching. When we do, life comes to us and death come to us all but how you die is in the hand of God.
Don’t die in your sins. Ask God for the forgiveness turn your life around for God. The true repentance. Not for show or a membership of a church but a relationship with the almighty.
A closeness. He knows all about you now is the time to know more about him.
