We like to continue were we left off last week. The message is when God has anointed us to carry the good news or the gospel to other. Today its will be taken from the book of Mark
Mark 16:15-20
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
The focus is the command to go out. With this in mind we have to see who we need to go to. Luke 4:14-21 gives us some clue to where to go. Today we are going to look into preach deliverance to the captives.
We been talking about both the physical and spiritual aspects of this passage of scripture. Who is held captives. First thing we think of are people in prison. They are being held captive because of a crime they been accused of doing. Some are in there and they didn’t do anything they was found guilty of. According to the scripture we need to preach to those people in prison or being held captive. We preach to them so they can be delivered. Delivered from their sins. Just as Jesus forgave the thief on the cross, by preaching the good news to others in prison they can get right with God. They can experience the real meaning of forgiveness when it comes to God’s love. This is the physical side of setting the captive free. Those who are in jail or the prison system.
The spiritual side of this is people are walking around free yet still being held captive by the fleshly nature. They enjoy life to much and don’t realize they are spiritually in prison. This is referring to all those who are walking in life wothout knowing God. They are being held captive in a way of not knowing the spiritual things of God.
Jesus has told his disciples and speaking to us today we must Go. Go and preach the gospel or good news in order for thr captive to be set free. Many are held captive in their mind, heart, and spirit. We who know thev truth and understand God’s power can preach to those who are held captive by their own desires.
When we go out to preach the good news some will reject you but continue on moving. Our goal is to set the captive free. Bring then under the power of God. Teach and train them in the right area of life. Help them to be delivered of whatever it maybe.
God has a way to let people see his power in action. When we go out to preach the word signs and wonders shall follow. Let each moment that passes by be that of seeing God’s power being manifested.
Finally, seek God all of his power. By doing this you can be a bold witness to others. No matter if a person is in jail or prison and being held captive or a person who is held captive to the thing of the world and need spiritual way out we must go and spread the good news to them. By doing this they can be set free. By being set free because of Christ, they now can have a newness to life. A second chance of living.
