As we look into the theme of this year a life for a life. We have to see why Jesus life was important to the world. He gave his life so we could be free.
What was the main purpose of Jesus when he walked upon the earth. Even before he went to tne cross Jesus went to where the people was. He carry hope and gave life to people. Today the world is lost and confused. They are looking for hope. They try to find hope in anything they can fine.
Jesus is that hope. Why? He quoted Isaiah 61 1-3 which is found in Luke 4:18. We see Jesus going into the synagogue to proclaim what Isaiah 61:1-3 said. The spirit of the Lord is on me. He has anointed me toproclain good news to the poor. Later Jesus said in Luke 4:21 Today the scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.
Jesus was about carring God’s word with him. He also said he came to set the oppressed free. At this time we have to see people was oppressed because of ruler and kings at this time. Yes he came to set them free. What about those who was oppressed in their spirit.
Jesus came to bring hope back into the land to bring about change in one life. He was doing this by healing,teaching the truth of God in a way people could understand. Since Jesus did this and we who are believers and followers of Christ are we going out and proclaiming the good news to those who are oppressed.
Those who are oppressed in their mind and spirit. We can bring them light and hope. Jesus has given us the authority to go out and tell others the good news and go out to the poor. Go out to all so they can be free from a spiritual death.
Today it was to bring hope to the hopeless. Help those who are oppressed in many ways. We can do this. Aince Jesus went out we also need to go out.
Many are oppressed with things on them. The area they live in, addicted to things that has cause problem to their body. People that can’t escape sexual addiction, those who have a hard time in coping in life. We have the power to change their lives by telling them of Jesus Christ the son of God.
If any of you are going through a hard time and feel oppressed. Seek help but most of all let Christ be the one that can heal you from in inside out. It might be right there on the spot or it could be awhile before God take it away. Whoever you are and wherever you might be Jesus can take you from that oppressed state and give you a new heart, mind and spirit. Its time for us as believers in Christ start minister to people who are in need. Since Jesus went out to bring about change in people life. We to can do the same. That is what it’s all about bringing change in others by telling them the hope that is in Jesus Christ. His death burial and resurrection was the key to setting people free if they just believe in the power of what Christ did for us all.
