A real sacrifice. A life for a life.

When been posting about A LIFE FOR A LIFE. Looking at the events surrounding the time before Jesus was on cross. We have covered lots of ground. We talk about the torture Jesus went through, the pain of being whipped and beaten, the humiliation he felt as people was mocking him. Most of all how his close follower denied of knowing him at this time.

At one point while Jesus was on the cross he was all alone. Why is that he became sin for the world. Being sin God couldn’t look at Jesus. That is why jesus what is found in Matthew 27:45-46 here is the scripture.

Matthew 27:45-46

45Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. 46And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

From this moment the last and final word of Jesus Christ in his earthly body was it is finished and he gave up the ghost. How did we get to such a place to be on the cross was because the people wanted Jesus dead. They thought he was being God Instead of being the king that they wanted him to be.

Two points to look at as we still talking about the blood of Jesus Christ being shed foe the remission of sin. Through the blood of Christ we have redemption or salvation, most would say spiritual freedom. No longer bound by satan and the evil things of this world.

Looking at the crown we see it is worn by the king of the land. It shows he is in command and he rules and regulate things that goes on. there is this game called checkers. When we get to the opponent side of the board and the last row we at crowned. In some cases the king had total control he can move forward and backwards and can take long jumps.

Then they put the crown of thrones on Jesus heat it was only a mockery of who he claim to be. Yet the blood flow from his head. As we look at this part here is what the scripture says.

John 19:2

And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe.

This signifies that Jesus has won back our Peace of mind. The blood that flow from his head just reminds us he is the head of the church. Jesus wanted people to realize as the blood flowed it was to say no more will I allow satan to still you mind because the blood has cover your thoughts. When we see Jesus at this point we can say our thoughts are no longer held captive. We have a new mind and that mind is the mind of christ. The heavenly mind and the righteous mind that is stayed on Christ and the thing of God.

Jesus was nailed to the cross. His hand and feet was both nailed to cross. As we see pictures of this during Easter it doesn’t look all that wonderful. Yet Jesus blood was shed at this time. Meaning his blood poured out of him. Through his blood we have life and in that life we gain access to God’s kingdom and become his sons or daughters.

Why the feet and the had. This method was done so the body would say up longer or in other words support of the body upon the cross. Let’s look at the blood that was shed at this particular time.

We know that the hand gives us the power to do things. Without the hand it hard to do ordinary task. Even though it was the custom to drive nails or spikes into the hand. With Jesus it was a turning point of all mankind. As the nail was driven into his hand it was only a reminder he and God is with us. He wants us to understand he holds the world by his hand. His hand is being outstretched to us. Telling us to take him by the hand and he will lead us into the right pathway. His blood was shed from his hand to let us know with Christ you are in good hand. He had redeem you from the curse of the law.

The nailing of the feet and the blood that Jesus shed only to remind us we can walk in authority and with great power and might. The work that Christ did it’s now given to us to do. We can walk in his ways and do things he left us to do for him. Satan now has no power over us. To those who come to Christ we can walk in victory and raise our hand to the truth. The truth is salvation only comes by Jesus blood that was shed for us that day.

To take away from all of this we see now that life is through Christ. We shared in his suffering in order to share in his glory. We have the mind of Christ. We can continue to do the work that Christ did. Teach and preach the gospel. Help the helpless, ministry to those who need ministering to. Provide for those who need provision and love on each other. Seek God and walk in his ways. We have power, dominion, and authority to walk in the nature of God. Being bold and courageous for the things of God.

As you look at the cross and the life of Christ at this point it all adds up to this. A life for a life. Jesus Gave up his life to save ours. What more do anyone needs than that. We have to believe and receive this by faith. Having Christ as the Lord and Savior of our life.
