Jesus was wounded and bruised for the world

Welcome back to our teaching on Jesus Christ. A LIFE FOR A LIFE. It was a dad day for all when Christ died for the world. What really went on the hours before the cross.

We know Jesus was being whipped and being made fun of at that time let’s look at some scriptures to support our teaching today.

This is what Matthew the gospel writer wrote.

Matthew 26:67

Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists. Others slapped him

What was the result from this, Jesus suffered bruises. When you get a bruise it is because of blood vessels has been damage and now blood or bleeding is under the skin.

In Isaiah 53:5 speaks on why that was done

Isaiah 53:5

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: This signifies that Jesus won back our right standing with God & delivered us from our iniquities.

Because of Christ and what he went through, he provided forgiveness for our Wickedness or Sin. Transgressions are anything that goes against the law. In other words, when we give our life to Christ he covers our Sins that we may have done in the past l, present and future. It doesn’t mean it give us the right to continue in sin. It shows us that Christ came and those who believe in Jesus and God, are now in a relationship with God. He see us as being made whole and righteous. We are now cleansed by the blood of Christ.

Second part to this because of the beaten Jesus got said his bruised was for our iniquities. The truth behind this is the blood that was pooling under his skin it was to see that no matter how gross or bad things we done it was cover by his bruises. It shows us that Christ no longer see those nasty things we done but he see us as being holy and santified in him.

When we see a bruise it might look nasty and bad. This how some people lives are. All messed up and really torn up inside. After a few days or weeks the body heals itself from the bruises. In Jesus case it never had time to heal. Therefore as the bruises continue as they beat him. He did that all for us. We can’t deny it any longer Christ suffer a lot before the cross. His wounds and bruises it was to fulfill the scriptures and to get people back into the right relationship with God.

Jesus Christ took a lot for us that day. He stood in our place. It was his life for our life. He died for our freedom. It was spiritual freedom. A right to the tree of life. The right to be a part of God’s family. Christ suffer, the pain and torment he went through it was for each person in this world. We have to believe and receive the fact of who Jesus is and what was done for the world.

Tomorrow we will look at the cross and the crown. The moment a crown of thrones was place on his head and the piercing of his hand and foot. It will be very graphic tomorrow
