Today is a review of the month of November. Looking back on this month it’s clear to see the topic was about Jesus Christ before the cross. The main theme is A LIFE FOR A LIFE. We will be looking at what was said during this month to get a clear picture of it all.
We said first it was the fact Jesus.
For now we must realize what he went through on the road to the cross. Most forget that but it shows us of his character and his nature.
Being God son in the flesh he took on human characteristics. Yet he was still the son of God who knew no sin, but became sin so we could have the right to become the children of God. Once we believe in The works that Jesus Christ did.
We continue on to talk about the way people was treated before going to the cross
One person who was torture and really humiliated was Jesus Christ. We talk about Christ on the cross but what did he go through before the cross? In the four gospel it mentions Jesus was scourge. Scourging was a brutal punishment, but it was standard practice before a crucifixion. The whip, the flagellum, had several thongs, each one of which had pieces of bone or metal attached. This was done to wear down a person before they was crucified. In one passage of scriptures it says Jesus was scourged 39 times. This was totally torture on the human body. People because of this practice died before they got to the cross.
What Jesus went through only gives people hope in the midst of things. We also said Christ brings hope to us knowing we can through him find the peace we need in our everyday situation. Have faith in God knowing he is able.
We went on to talk about the blood of Jesus Christ how it was shed for us. We talk about his body and the Lord Supper. We talk about how Christ body way broken for us and to understand why it happened. As we went deeper we talked more about Jesus blood being shed and seven places or point of it being shed
There are 7 places Christ blood was shed. It might not mean a lot but just think about it for a while and see God’s truth come to life.
7 places are
1. In the garden of Gethseman Luke 22:40-44 (in the scriptures it doesn’t say it was blood but it sweatndropped from his face as if it was blood.)
2. As he stood trail and was whipped at the post blood was shed at this time. Matthew 27:27
3. He was bruised and suffered Internal bleeding from being beaten.
4.The shedding of blood when receiving the Crown of Thorns upon his head. John 19:2
5. The blood that was shed through Jesus’ Pierced Hands. Luke 23:33
6.The blood that was shed through Jesus’ Pierced Feet. Luke 23:34
7. The blood that was shed through the spear in Jesus side. John 19
We stopped at the point where Jesus was whipped at the whipping post. Monday we be back with more details and more of the way Christ blood was shed.
