Carry the cross. walking with Christ

As in the words of an old hymnal it goes.

Must Jesus bear the cross alone

And all the world go free?

No, there’s a cross for ev’ry one,

And there’s a cross for me

As we look at what Jesus went through before the death on the cross was a painful ordeal. Could we handle such pain today.

What people might forget is within that song. People in this world is walking around and not understanding is the purpose of the cross. They are walking around as if it was any other story. It’s not just any other story but a matter of life and death when it comes to the spiritual life of it all.

We all have thing in life we must bare. What jesus bared before the cross was a so much pain and agony that someone had to help him to carry the cross to the hill. Here is what the scriptures says.

Luke 23:26 NIV

As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.

This one man help Jesus to carry the cross. Jesus was weak at this time and he didn’t have the strength to carry the cross he was going to die on for the world.

The question for you is this will you carry that cross? Are you able to see the pain and the suffering Jesus went through before the cross. Jesus needed help because his body at this time was all battered and torn to a certain degree.

Why didn’t Jesus just give up and die at this moment. If you look at a sacrifice, what to we really see back then. An pure animal without any defect. It was offered up to God in the act of attoinement of sin. Daily will the priest come to offer up this type of sacrifice to God.

As we see Jesus before the cross, and knowing he was making his way that hill. We have to pause a moment and wonder how is this possible. A men who knew no sin became sin for the world so we could be free. Free from the curse of this world and life in God.

Are you able to pick up the cross of Jesus and walk along with the Lord. Are you able to bare your that cross. Meaning seek Christ, understand all he bared before the cross and what he went through on the cross. He suffered at the hands of his enemy both before, and during the cross. He kept on going until the end. He said father in thou hands I commit my spirit. He than gave up the ghost.

Jesus purpose and plan was the cross. He was to die on that cross for the world to gain access to God and his kingdom by people believing and receiving what he did that day.

He bared the cross, his life in that one day wasn’t his own but it was for the sins of humanity. The cross that Jesus bared that day was for all human kind. The cross wasn’t about him but for all human souls on the earth at this time and years to come. The cross that Jesus beared as he walked it upon the tree he might been seeing things that people would be going through. He might have been saying I must do this for you because of the pain you are going through. No pain can never match up with the pain Jesus faced before and on the cross.

Jesus bared the cross. What cross will you bared for Christ. What sacrifices will you make because of Christ. Christ had to endure so much in that one day for the world, for you, for I. As we come to him we have to realize if he bared the cross for us, then we must pick up that cross and follow Christ daily.
