Over the last few days we have looked at the function of the church. This was done by the 5 fold ministry that the bible speaks of in Ephesians 4:11-16.
They are Teacher, Evangelist, Preacher, Apostles, and Prophets. Those are 5 fold ministry spoken of in Ephesians 4:11-16. They all have different function per say, yet they all are called by God. God use these people to bring forth the word that he has given to them to give to others.
Each person could give forth a word in a group or individual setting. Those words that they spoke should encourage others, motive others to live a life under God and point others towards Christ. Pointing others in a way of salvation and into a personal relationship with God and Jesus.
With the prophet he is a person God has chosen to be his spokesperson. He give them words, vision or dreams to inform others of situation that is happening in their lives that God want them to fix or else a bad thing or good thing could happen to them.
The word they give have a meaning that to other in which the person whom he is speaking to would only know. It a direct word. Those words again could be a word of encouragement, event or something to take place in a person’s life. Or a warming to repent and turn to God.
Words spoken to a person by the prophet may not always be the true entire picture. God only reveal parts and pieces to them. The reason behind this is the person will know that first God that is only coming from God. The second to get others to see the truth behind it, so they can make the change or get ready for an event to happen.
At times it may seems the prophet is way off but God is working on the person he just spoke a word to. In other ways the person might say no way that will happen but months, days or years down the road the word spoken to that person is coming true in a since. May not be the way he said it but the truth behind it is the same.
With the prophet being God message, they have a very important task to do. God might give them a word but it may not be the best of words but it’s what God want them to deliver. They must be of a good report as a prophets because they are messenger called by God.
All of the 5 fold minister may look like they are doing each other task but those are the gifting God has given them to do but not what they been called to do each and ever day. Yes a person could give another person a word of prophecy but it doesn’t make that person a prophet. It only saying God had gifting them to do so at that time.
As each person who been called to do the work of the Lord, God will help them to fine tune their calling. Yes a person might make a wrong judgement call at first but as they stay on the right track and in that line God had called them into then they will be a powerful person being used by God. The reason is so people lives can be changed and touched by God no matter who is bringing the message of hope or the good into their lives.
On the footnote we have many more ministry out there, but the 5 fold ministry is what God had me to share and to get deeper in Ephesians 4:11-16
