The shepherd of the house

God has given people specific task to do. We see it from Noah in Genesis to the book of Revelation. What about in today world we live in we have lots of church and each church must have a pastor to lead the flock. The flock are people who are members of the church, plus also those who may not be members but come on a regular basis. The pastor must make sure he is doing what God called him to do so that the body of Christ can grow into the right relationship with God.

Unlike an evangelist who might have a church they attend every once or twice a month because they are on the road teaching or preaching, a pastor has his own church, and is the leader of that church.

A pastor position can very from church to church on how he do things but their main goal is to make sure the members are being taught the word of God in that church. He can’t do it all therefore he has different ministries under him. He make sure each one is doing what they suppose to do.

Pastors main goal is to preach the word. Making sure the word they preach can help the members to become stronger in their faith. A pastors must follow the leading of God and don’t let people control his action. He must be strong in the faith and knowing and understand the things of God. He gives godly direction to those in need. He also takes on a role as a counselor as well. Beside preaching he carries a lot of weight on his shoulder as he minister to others.

The pastor do many event and functions at the church or outside of the church building. From weddings to funeral, communion to praying or even baptism it’s part of the function of the pastor.

When we look at a pastor from a general stand point, we don’t know when God called them but when God do call them they will take on a great responsible. Not just to the members or guest but also to the church building as well. They have to make sure each ministries is doing their part to make sure the other members or guests feel happy and enjoy themselves during the services.

Today is a overview of the task of a pastor to found out more of what the duty of the pastor are we have the bible, the internet and library to help us out. We can also include that a pastor is a shepherd of the flock. He make sure the members are getting what they need from the church.

One thing about being a pastor is having a heart to do the work. It’s not an easy task to do, but when God calls a person to be a pastor of the church h knows that person will be able to operate as the pastor. Some people said they been called by God but only to find out it was only a lie. Again we will notice who really been called or those who just one day and said I going to be a pastors.

Pastors are those who’s life lines up with the scriptures, those who really been called out and set apart to be use in the position of the pastor. The reason we can tell a real pastor from the fake is how they are preaching. Are they preaching from the Bible. Telling the total truth about God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Is their lifestyle line up according to the scriptures. In the scriptures it tells us what a preacher life should consist of outside of the church.

A pastor who is called may not have it all together at that time, but as they start out the journey, they might have to take some college courses on being a pastor. God can use anyone but they must have an open mind and heart in order to answer the call. Many God had chosen but few had answer the calling. No clue behind it but one might thing it wasn’t for them.

As a pastor are you doing those things God has called you to. Are yo looking for the crowd of people to fill the church, yet you not outside of the walls and ministering to others, helping others to grow in their faith. Are you running the entire show and nr letting others to do their part as they been called to or to use the gifting God has given them. A good pastor will make surch the church is operating in a good manor, being lead by God and not people.

Finally the pastor, a good Shepard will not lead anyone astray but his word they preach and proclaim. If people leave it could be the word of go that comes forth and is convicting them of God’s amazing Grace and power. Whoever you are and if God is calling you to be a pastor, pray and seek God. By doing this they work of God through you can help others out in many ways.
