There was a movie out some time back called CLOSE ENCOUNTER OF THE THIRD KIND. This movie was about people that was taken by ufo or aliens from another plant.
Today I will be talking about a true encounter. When you really experience God for yourself. I mean that Jesus who comes into your life and really do a makeover in your heart, mind and soul.
Have you really experience the spiritual power of God. Have you every experience that touch from God that only he can give you. It’s a life changing experience. It’s a personal experience when you encounter Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit for yourself.
Many in the bible encounter God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit one on one or in a group setting. The outcome was so great it had an impact on their lives. From Genesis to Revelation we see God special encounter on the lives of other. From a voice in the burning bush, that wasn’t consumed to being stranded on an island and Jesus appeared to him. Jesus told him to right about those things that are yet to come. Believe it or not we are living in the time of the Book of Revelation.
Paul in the book of Acts his encounter was a very unique one. Jesus appeared to Paul as Paul was going to kill the Christians. Paul never was the same again. He grew in the knowledge of Christ, the wrote letters to people about the Jesus and telling people how Christ can change your life if you believe and trust fully in him.
The true encounter of Christ will result in a total change around in one mindset. They will do things God command and want from them. Each person who come to Christ had a mission to tell others of the saving grace of God. Once you really see for yourself the power of God and all of the benefit of his love, grace and power it will do something to you. Just like Moses his encounter with God was special and God had a plan and a purpose for him. His plan was to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt into the promise Land.
When you encounter God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit it will cause you to be on a mission to change the world for Christ. The reason I know because I have had a personal encounter with God. That encounter has been in many ways and form but it’s so real and true.
You might say how do you know it’s of God. When you look back on your life and see how you made it. God put you in places where you needed to be and you never thought you was able to get there. That is the power of God working. I going to tell you of an encounter I how God had it all planned and ready for me.
In March 1984 while at a outreach conference. A week of witnessing on the beach about Christ. it happened the encounter. I was told by someone in 10 years I will be living in Florida. At the age of 18 going on 19 I just pass it by. I never gave it any more thoughts. God told me at 24 he had a mission for me to do. To minister the gospel. God called me out. I didn’t want the task before me. In 1991 I got a job as an assistant manager of a restaurant. That job moved me around alot. One year my roommate and myself decided to move out of the area we was in. I stayed behind as they looked for a new place to live. When they came back they told me all about their trip and they find this one place which was in Orlando Florida. Moving forward it was now June of 1994 we all got settled in into our new home. One strange thing happened it wasn’t until the next year 1995 that I realize what was told to me back in 1984. Ten years from now you will be living in Florida. Sure enough it was a little more than ten years but it was the summer of 94 when I was in Florida.
The encounter I had directly or indirectly with God already had my fate planned. How was I going to get to point B wasn’t up to me if I allow God to take care of it all. In other words God plan for my life didn’t start when I move to Florida his plans for my life happened long time before that.
The encounter with God will change you life once we are open and willing to be use as a vessel for him. He need a willing heart mind and soul to be use to carry out his truth and teaching.
Each person encounter with God is different. As we look at this week the personal encounter by God. When God make the initial appearance in your life be ready for it
