What price are you willing to pay for your happiness. We all have made decision in life some good and same bad but what if you was to be up in coming person to change the history of your people who was controlled by the enemy. We are looking at Samson and look at his life breaking it down by the event that happen. In the book of Judges chapter 13 verse 24-25
Judges 13:24-25 KJV
And the woman bare a son, and called : and the child grew, and the Lord blessed him. And the Spirit of the Lord began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.
What was the mistake that Samson did at first. He saw a woman of the Philistines that he wanted for his wife. This what took place.
Judges 14:1-2 KJV
And Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines. And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife.
The response that the parents gave him
Judges 14:3-4 NIV
His father and mother replied, “Isn’t there an acceptable woman among your relatives or among all our people? Must you go to the uncircumcised Philistines to get a wife?” But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me. She’s the right one for me.” (His parents did not know that this was from the Lord , who was seeking an occasion to confront the Philistines; for at that time they were ruling over Israel.)
Maybe it was all in God plan of Samson taking his wife, but did Samson go beyond his boundary. We notice that when the spirit of the Lord came on him he had great strength.
Samson my have been a strong man, but when it came to things in life he was not that strong of a person. The reason behind it because he kept a secret from his parents. The killing of the lion which later he made a riddle out of it.
This is what happened to the lion at the hand of Samson.
Judges 14:5-6 NIV
Samson went down to Timnah together with his father and mother. As they approached the vineyards of Timnah, suddenly a young lion came roaring toward him. The Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done
Judges 14:8-9 NIV
Some time later, when he went back to marry her, he turned aside to look at the lion’s carcass, and in it he saw a swarm of bees and some honey. He scooped out the honey with his hands and ate as he went along. When he rejoined his parents, he gave them some, and they too ate it. But he did not tell them that he had taken the honey from the lion’s carcass.
From there he made a riddle out of it at the wedding feast.
Judges 14:12-14 NIV
Let me tell you a riddle,” Samson said to them. “If you can give me the answer within the seven days of the feast, I will give you thirty linen garments and thirty sets of clothes. If you can’t tell me the answer, you must give me thirty linen garments and thirty sets of clothes.” “Tell us your riddle,” they said. “Let’s hear it.” He replied, “Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet.” For three days they could not give the answer.
This is a good place to stop for today. Today point is Samson not really being honest to those around him. From his wife to his parents it held things back that should have been told to his parents.
Looking at the riddle he made out of the confortation with the lion was it the right thing to do or the wrong thing to do. I don’t think he was humble enough as a person therefore I think he did as he wanted to do.
Just a reminder sometimes we make decisions base on feeling but we have to think about those things because it could have some consequences. As we will look at tommorow. Paying the price but at what cost.
Just a reminder do things out of love and honor. Don’t force yourself out of wanting or got to have it. When God tells you to go after something he will provide things to work itself out.
Samson may been a strong man but he had a weak mind and heart towards woman. He was able to fall into their trap.
God is here to forgive you for things you did wrong in the past or things you doing now. Just ask and receive his forgiveness and he will. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
