This is a new week and we are looking at Samson. One of the strongest person of his day. God hand was on his life but did he ever come to terms of the gift that God gave him.
Do you know each person is given a special calling or gifting on their lives but it is up to us to ask God to revile it to us. Some parents wants kids to walk in their shoes. They want the kids to do what they did. Let the kids find out their own gifting and develop them into it. Kids would appreciate both parents and they wouldn’t be under the pressure to be like their parents. As we have said to each their own, and when people are given the chance to go after what God has placed inside of them, they will be much happier and free.
The life of Samson is found in the book Judges, chapter 13-16. We will explore today how it all stated.
Judges chapter 13
And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord ; and the Lord delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years. And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not. Judges 13:1-2 KJV
God held the people of Israel in captivity by the philistines because of their wickedness they was doing in his sight. The punishment for not following what God told them to do. At times we cause things on our life because no listening to God and following his instructions.
There was the man and woman who was from the land of Zorah. She was unable to have children, but God step in sent a messenger with great news. Indeed she will have a son and he will be a mighty person for the Israelites.
And the angel of the Lord appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
Judges 13:3-5 KJV
The things the messenger told the lady was this.
Lady this is what you must do yo have a great son
1. You will have a son
2 don’t drink any wine or strong drinks from the vine.
3 Don’t eat any unclean thing
His purpose in life is this.
He is to deliver the people of Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. One rule for this to be done you must not let any razor come to his head. In other words don’t let his hair to be cut.
Judges 13:24 KJV
And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the Lord blessed him.
As we leave you with this to think about from the above passage. God took a woman who was barren, and gave her a son. She named him Samson and as he grew, the Lord blessed him.
What a way to see God in a different prospective. Israelites are in captivity, God is about to send somebody to save them out of their bondage. Even we see God miracle working with the first few verses. Just know God is able to do a miracle in and on your life. All you have to do is believe and have faith.
The woman did as she was instructed to do. With no doubt or complaining I do believe. When God come to a person directly or by a messenger God is about to his work. All we need to do is allow God to do it and follow the instructions.
Jesus is our Savior and deliverer. He came to redeem us from our sons and give us the freedom we need in God. The road may not be easy but God is able to carry us through. All we need to do is just ask and believe. It shall be done for us. God has your best interest at heart
