Ishmael had the blessings of God over his life.

The blessings of God. When God shows his favor over a person’s life. The Lord provided for Ishmael and his mother Hagar. It was Hagar that founded Ishmael a wife.

Today we will be looking deeper into the life of Ishmael and see what the Bible said about his life.

At three different times The spirit of the Lord spoke on the life of Ishmael. Before he was born, after his birth, and the time both was in the desert almost ready to die. God already had this plan in motion eventhough Sarah messed it.

Yesterday we talked about the blessing that had been placed in Ishmael life because of Abraham. Here is what the verses are saying.

Genesis 21:17‭-‬21 KJV

And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation. And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink. And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer. And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.

God provided protection and provision. Ishmael and his mother was both ready to die. Yet God provided them a well to get water from. Second God gave them a place to stay. Third God provided him a wife. The wife was picked by Hagar.

Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham: And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa, Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah: These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations. Genesis 25:12‭-‬16 KJV

He also had twelve tribe or twelve nations. If we do more research we will see what happened to those nations.

Ishmael later was into archery. That is the sport of now and arrows. Most likely that what he did at a young age. Again he did get married and had children. He had twelve boys and each on began his own tribe or nation.

When Abraham was buried both Ishmael and Issac was at the burial site.

And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre; The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife. Genesis 25:9‭-‬10 KJV

Ishmael lived near Egypt until he died at the age of 137.

God had blessed Ishmael with a family, wife, and many other thing we may not know of. As we look at Ishmael life, God was with him and the blessings of Abraham was also upon him.

It may not seem Ishmael had a lot at the time but God bless his bloodline. He was good in archery. Most of all God had favor on his life.

Finally, don’t test God, don’t put your hand into what God is setting up. We may not see the road clearly but with God all things will work in his favor. Don’t doubt just have faith and believe. You never know who your blessing is helping.

Be true to yourself, be true to others, most of all be true to God.
