Hagar go back and submit to Sarah

Genesis 16

How is Sarah going to fix the mess she created. When God speak and promise you something, knowing you can’t do it yourself. Please don’t put your hands into it because it will only mess things up.

Hagar was an Egyptian, a maid servant for Abram. Yesterday we learn what happened in their situation.

She got tangle up in a mess, which she shouldn’t have been in. God had already set plan with Abram and Sarah, but she put her hand into it. Hagar borne a son because of the Sarah meddling. Here is the account of Hagar.

And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the Lord judge between me and thee. But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face. Genesis 16:5‭-‬6 KJV

Hagar walked away

What would you do knowing you was with child and the one that told you to sleep with Abram had a time with you. Nothing good will happen out of that situation. Best thing for her to do not stand and fight but walk away. The Bible said that what went down between Hagar and Sarah was so much, that Hagar fled. She got up and left the mess she was in.

What a twist God added

How is God looking at this situation? What would God do because of the fact Abram seed is to be blessed and it doesn’t make no difference who the baby mother is. Just know the true covenent will come through Issac and not Hagar son. Hagar has a talk with an angle of God in the midst of it all.

Don’t work it out yourself. God has it covered

Hagar left camp, but do you know God is right with her. When you feel like your world have caved in on you, and you don’t know what to do. God is able to work it out for you. He has your best interest in mind. No need to worry or complain allow God to do the work. What happen next is more than she wasn’t expecting.

And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands. Genesis 16:7‭-‬9 KJV

An angel is searching Hagar out

Look what is taking place an angel of God came to Hagar. A messenger that was sent by God, told Hagar to go back and submit to Sarah. Wow, what a twist. She has to go back and submit to the one that caused all of this upon her. What we see here some times we can’t just walk away from our problem. Yes it might come with a price put in the long run God is able to do his work in the midst of it all. Never take the easy way out because you never know it’s a blessing when you face those situations, when you are up against all odds.

GOD’S PLAN FOR HAGAR

Now Hagar must be wondering what is going on. Why is this angel coming to me. What is the news from God? What is God plan for Hagar. Here it is.

And the angel of the Lord said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction. And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. Genesis 16:10‭-‬12 KJV

Didn’t God tell Abram that those who blessed him will be blessed. Eventhough it not in this passage of scripture Ishmael was bless by Abraham. This could be found in chapter 17 verse 20.

And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.
Genesis 17:20 NIV.

Now with Hagar son Ishmael we will look more into his life later. Do you see now, how Sarah meddling cause a ripple effect in the world. God still have to bless both Hagar and Ishmael. The reason behind this was all because of what Abram did.

He is a summary of what Hagar will get in return of Sarah messing with God’s plan.

1. Her seed will be many. From her many will come.

2. She will have a son.

3. Her son will have the blessing of Abraham over his life. That only God could do.

4. Ishmael being blessed by God. God said Ishmael will be a great nation and the father of twelve rulers.

Tomorrow we will look at the life of Ishmael. How did one person mistake lead up to all of this confusion.

Remember don’t mess up what God already have put into place. People will get hurt and lives will be in chaos.
