When doubt trouble Sarah’s mind

Faith, hope, trust and belief are words to describe our ways of thinking in every day life. We have faith that the car will start. We hope the boss is in a good mood. We trust that the baby sitter is honest. People believe in lots of things but are they truly believing in God for a given reason.

With Sarah in Genesis she put her hands into God’s business because of lack of faith and trust in God. She didn’t believe totally that God was able to do as he said. What happened to cause here to loose the hope God gave her.

What was the promise God gave to Abram?

BE A GREAT NATION

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:2‭-‬3 KJV

What is second promise to Abram? He will be father of many nation

And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the Lord ; and he counted it to him for righteousness. Genesis 15:4‭-‬6 KJV

Lets move forward a little and see how Sarah put her hand on what God had promised Abram.

What cause Sarah to do what she did? Time

Only time will tell. That is an old saying. In the case of Sarah time wasn’t on her side to have a child so she went behind God’s back and this is what took place.

Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. Genesis 16:1‭-‬4 KJV

Here is what we have found out for today. God promised Abram he will be the father of many nation. In fact the told Abram to look up at the sky and look at the stars. As there are so many stars that will be like your descendents. So many you can’t even number them. Those nation will great and so will Abram. When Sarah got to the point when time was taking it toll on her life, she allow Hagar to sleep with Abram and she bored a son. With what we see with Sarah I do think she was loosing the trust, faith, belief, and hope in God as he promised Abram.

Today many people are in the same boat as Sarah. They can’t wait to receive their blessing from God, so they start to put matters in their own hands. What God want us to learn is to wait on him. It maybe taking a long time. Once we have the patience and the endurance to hold on God will bring it to pass.

Again have faith, trust in God, believe it will take place and never give up that hope. Yes Sarah have up hope to soon. Just know with God all things are possible we have to believe. When we have to walk through the valley or walk on rocky ground knowing God is able to bring us through and he is there holding our hands. Within our spirit we can hear
