Sense of belonging
2 Corinthians 1:21-22, Romans 14:8
Sense of belonging to something such as a job. By having a job it give us a sense of belonging to a place. It just assures us of being paid, being rewarded and praised. It help us to take pride into something that we like to do in most cases.
God wants us to belong to his family. Being a part of the family of God
How much more will he give you if you do as you are instructed?
What will people do to impress the boss? Will people follow the
instructions of the boss knowing it might hurt the business one way or the other?
Who are people trying to impress? They get a joy out of being praised by doing something good. They need a place to fit in. Many feel outcast and
not loved. People try to impress others. They seek others for advice or look up to others. They want to please them no matter what they do or say. Looking in the wrong place to be wanted and a place to belong or fit into. Some joins gangs, sorority, churches, college, clubs and other activities just to be a part of something. They try to fit and not realizing they already have what it takes because of God.
Why not do my instructions even when the world goes against it. You not following them but follow me and just think of how I will be impressed of you. You reward will be coming soon. God wants us to lean on him and we have the insurance in him. We don’t have to look toward others for the comfort or for the substance we might be looking for. God has already given things to us that we need and want. He is able to supply our needs according to his richness in glory. As we follow his instructions it give us a sense that we belong to somebody and that is the body of Christ, we belong to him and nothing else matters. Do what he instructs us to do and we will fit in all the time because God is with us and he wont lead us astray. In Christ we have those things

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 New International Version (NIV)
21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
We have to realize once we are in Christ we already belong to the family of God. We belong to God’s kingdom, and being a part of his kingdom he had given us a lot. He has put his seal of approval on us. Just as the king or queen knights somebody to be a part of the British royal family. When we receive Christ as our Lord and savior than we are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. Therefore God gives us the Holy Spirit to help us along the way. It only there to reminds us what is yet to come. Yes being a part of God’s family is a big, if we could see the entire picture. Knowing what God has in store for his children keeps us motivated to continue with God.
Belonging to God means to live for him. Living for God while we are living on Earth, meaning surrendering your life to Christ, walk in his ways, being committed to him, and following those things God instructions us to do, prove we belong to God. Not just in this world but even in death we still belong to God because we have the assurance of Christ we will be with him in paradise. That is the guarantee that is written in 2 Corinthians 1:21-22

Romans 14:8 New International Version (NIV) 8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
