This is event of Joseph after prison. Was he still trapped by the Egyptian state of mind. Read below and let your mind think about it for a while.
The story of Joseph tell us a lot about freedom. The freedom to live, freedom to have, the freedom to be who you are in God. What would happen if that freedom put you and your people in danger.
I never notice this before but Joseph after he got out of prison he became a prison to the land he lived in. You might ask me how.
First he was a Hebrew and a part of the Abraham, Issac, and Jacob line. The generation of men who had a heart for God, but where did Joseph go wrong.
He had all going for him, the favor of God was upon him yet we see power of status coming into play.
First point is power and status can get you not looking at what God really want for you.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. Genesis 41:39-43 KJV
Again things we can take away from here could have alter the faith of Joseph
1. The power that he had could have been a distraction to him and God.
2. Just as his earthly father gave him a coat of many colors. Pharaoh adorn him with a nice linen.
3. The fine jewelry
4. The people bowing or kneeling down at Joseph.
The next part is very interesting point to look at as well.
And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphenath–paneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Poti–phera priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt. And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt. Genesis 41:45-46 KJV
1. Joseph name was changed
2. He was married to an Egyptian
Was he being molded into the land of Egypt. Was he loosing his culture background. I really don’t know but many has fallen because getting mix in with the wrong group of people.
Taken a lesson from Joseph and a look at my life, when a person get promoted in any area we need to be careful on how to handle it.
With Joseph, his entire life change over night. We was know as the prince of Egypt. Yes he had the freedom but I do believe his freedom had an effect on the way he served God. When we allow the outside world to dictate our every move than we no longer letting God to control our steps.
Take a page out of Joseph life, God had it all planned for Joseph. Did Joseph when he was put in charge of Egypt did he take the high road and do as he was instructed to do. In doing this was he allowing God to direct his steps to help out in the land.
Think about the Joseph life after prison. See how being in the influence of Pharaoh could have taken some of his culture away from him.
