One lie left a mark on Joseph life. God still was in control.

Have you ever been lied on? Did you ever was found guilty but you didn’t do the crime? How long must the innocent suffer because people already found them guilty?

How many years does it take to clear your record for a crime you was accused of doing, yet you didn’t do it?How many get lied on because people get the wrong interpretation of what the witnessed?

While trying to do good and living up to God standard one lie ruined person repretation and life. Still being lied Joseph trusted in God. By trusting in God he was favored by the person running the jail. This is the event of that time.

One day he went into the house to attend to his duties, and none of the household servants was inside. She caught him by his cloak and said, “Come to bed with me!” But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house. When she saw that he had left his cloak in her hand and had run out of the house, she called her household servants. “Look,” she said to them, “this Hebrew has been brought to us to make sport of us! He came in here to sleep with me, but I screamed. When he heard me scream for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house.” She kept his cloak beside her until his master came home. Then she told him this story: “That Hebrew slave you brought us came to me to make sport of me. But as soon as I screamed for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house.” When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, “This is how your slave treated me,” he burned with anger. Joseph’s master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were confined. But while Joseph was there in the prison, the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.
Genesis 39:11‭-‬23 NIV

A lie caused an innocent man to be sent to prison. Yet while in prison the warden found favor with Joseph. Later the warden put Joseph in charge of all who was held there. The warden trusted Joseph to the point he never paid no attention to those things Joseph was in charge over.

Even in a lie Joseph trusted God and believed all will work out for the best. When you are walking in the light of God and the enemy want to throw you a curbball just remember the enemy may think they have won. God is the one that has the final say.

If Potipher trusted Joseph and saw he was a man of honor, a godly person, then why did he go with his wife and put Joseph in prison. Sometimes people only want to believe what others may say and take it at face value. The real truth of it all God is only showing others at this time if you trust and believe in him things will turn out right.

The main point of all of this is how Joseph handle himself and how his action showed a godly character in him. He had it all now he is prison but not of his own doing but because of a lie that was told on him.

How would you reacted to this situation? Could you trust anybody else? What reputation did Joseph had now? One thing I think is this. God is my father and I will serve him. If those who accused me of doing something wrong in which I didn’t God will get justice. It’s not mine place to seek revenge leave it in the hand of the Lord.

As we look at Joseph the mark he has left on me is this. A man of integrity, honest, truthful, God fearing, a man if wisdom, and most of all a man who really had God favor over his life. God favor was in his life from the pit, the Potipher house, now in prison. Through it all he trusted God and God found favor in him. God plan was still in the works.

It may seem like a long time but my change has come. I am no longer in prison. I been set free. The next topic

Come back tomorrow as we continue to look at Joseph. The everlasting mark he left on others
