Our new study is the third part in the series of lesson that I learned and God wanted me to share to the public. Growing in God what mark will you be leaving on others
In this study we will be looking at People who left a mark on others because of God. From Genesis to Revelation you will see people leaving their mark on people whither be good or bad.
For starter the word mark means. An everlasting impression. What people see and know about you. Your reputation. Yes we will all leave a mark on somebody one way or the other.
We will walk through each day next week and looking at Joseph, King Solomon, Peter, Paul, Daniel,Jesus and many other who made a mark on others because of what they did or didn’t do.
Today we looking at Adam. He made an impact or left a mark on the entire human race. What lesson can we learn from this and how will it help us in the long run.
God created Adam. Made him from his own image. Adam was walking on Earth without knowing right or wrong. Good or evil. God told him this to Adam directly.
And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” Genesis 2:16-17 NIV
Later in Genesis we see this happening
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Genesis 3:6-7 NIV
No matter if he ate the fruit directly off the tree or was given to him by the woman( who name was changed to Eve later in chapter 3). He still disobeyed God and therefore sin enter into the world. Soon as Adam ate the fruit both of their eyes were open to the knowledge of good and evil. Two things happened here I like to point out one is the sin of disobedience toward God. Second is they new now good and evil. Right and wrong.
That what Adam did went against God will and plan for Adam. God didn’t destroy him or Eve, but know they had to pay for what they did. God showed his Mercy and love upon them even though they had sin.
In Romans it states
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 NIV.
Both Adam and Eve paid the price for their sin. What about yours. What about the world disobedience towards God. That is why we have the second part of Romans 6:23. Yes wages of sin is death but what Jesus did on the cross it brings back life to those who believes in him. That life is eternal. The blood of Jesus cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We have to accept the fact of what Jesus did and walk in faith. Knowing God has delivered us from sin and we can walk in his righteousness. God grace, mercy and love has set us free if we just believe and walk in him.
That is the mark our life should reflect. The life of Christ and the love of God.
