VICTORY BRINGS ABOUT CELEBRATION

The month of March is March madness month. In other words many college basketball games plays in the month of March because of the tournament. When a team wins, they advance to the next round. The most exciting time for a team is the final two. Celebration goes on as each team get closer to the victory or win. The team which wins the final round, they begin to celebrate the victory or win. The winner is the champion and will be known as the best of the best for they came through all the other teams to get the win or victory.

A look at David victory over Goliath

1 Samuel 17:45-46

With David he gain the victory over Goliath. As we look into the scriptures today we will see how that happened. Goliath a giant in the land, taunting the Israelites. When David, was bringing lunch to those on the front line, he heard what Goliath was saying. David wasn’t afraid of what Goliath was saying because it was all words. What really made David upset was, Goliath mocking the one and only true God, in whom David worships. David told Saul he want to go against Goliath so that all will be at rest. We see David confronted Goliath.

Goliath laughed at David because of his statue, young and haven’t been in any battle before. One thing David had working with him is this He had the Lord within his life and he trusted in God. He has so much confidence in the Lord and within his self, he was able to say this.

David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 1 Samuel 17:45‭-‬46 NIV

The events that unfolded next.

As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him. David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine’s sword and drew it from the sheath. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword. When the Philistines saw that their hero was dead, they turned and ran. Then the men of Israel and Judah surged forward with a shout and pursued the Philistines to the entrance of Gath and to the gates of Ekron. Their dead were strewn along the Shaaraim road to Gath and Ekron.
1 Samuel 17:48‭-‬52 NIV

Because of the boldness of David, he was able to have the victory over the situation. They celebrated the victory because the enemy has no more control over them. Today we end this lesson on David. He went from how those things he confronted in life, brought him confidence. Having confidence brought about victory, then victory brings about celebration.

This was what was taught to me 37 years ago so I am passing the torch to somebody else. To let them know with God on your side, all things are possible if we have faith and trust in him. The truth about all of this is David faced things at a young age, but yet when the true test came he trusted God and put God ahead of the situation. I believe that is how he was able to kill Goliath.

Put God first in all you do and say. Then you can celebrate your victories in life. You know it wasn’t by your strength alone you overcame, but it was the power of God working in your life that gave you the victory

Finally, this message was to be encourage the believers. This was to let us know we can face our fears. Each time we allow God to move in us he is only breaking things off of us. Each time we witness or evangelize to other people we are confronting our fears. It will soon become natural to us as we go out and witness to other.
