As we start this year, three thing we need to do when it comes being wise in this year. These three things will help use out this year as we seek the truth. Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding are the 3 Keys to seek after doing this year. Those three things go hand in hand when it comes to Proverbs. Proverbs are saying of wise people who had the wisdom, the knowledge, and the understanding of life. They have seen and heard things or instructions on how to live a life worthy of God.
Proverbs Chapter 1 gives us instructions on what to watch out for and who we need to listen to. Let’s look at verse 6 and 7, followed by 33. This is what it’s all about when it comes to the book of Proverbs.
6-7 for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
33. but fools despise wisdom and instruction. but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.”
Proverbs 1:6-7, 33 NIV
Within the reading it tell us what children should do. It’s all about the Godly advice.
Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck. Proverbs 1:8-9 NIV
Why is this important because the days are evil and people try to force things on others that is evil.
My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them. If they say, “Come along with us; let’s lie in wait for innocent blood, let’s ambush some harmless soul; let’s swallow them alive, like the grave, and whole, like those who go down to the pit; we will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder; cast lots with us; we will all share the loot”—
Proverbs 1:10-14 NIV
We should not follow the evil schemes of other. If we do it will take us down a pathway that there will no way to recover.
Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
Proverbs 1:30-32 NIV
The above thing will happen if people don’t listen to Godly wisdom or advice. They will fall prey to the evilness of other and possibility, God would not be able to reach them no more.
The lesson to day is seek Godly advice, gain the knowledge and understanding of the scriptures. When we do this, closer we see how God power is working in the world. Most of all we will fear God out of reverence and knowing he will keep us safe under his grace.
