From one corner to the other we love it when things begin to work in our favor. When God is on the move working it out what can stop his plan and purpose.
A situation happened in my life a long time ago. Back in 1984 I was attending an outreach on the beach for college kids called operation Sonshine . While I was there somebody told this to me
10 years from now you will be living in Florida.
Believe it or not, me and some roommates move to Orlando FL in the June of 1994. Ten years later after this person told me this in 1984. This person spoke what God already knew what was going to take place.
It was letting me know get ready you may not see it at the moment but when you see that taking place just know it all in God’s plan and purpose.
I said all of this to let you know, Jesus birth was plan years before it happened and the events to happen was already predicted.
Matthew 2 is the chapter we will be looking into. We see things taking place in this chapter where people are in place, things happened, that was told a long time before it happened.
1st the people who was in place. King Herod, and the wise men. What did these people have to do with the events that surrounded Jesus birth.
The king called the wise men to see what the going on in Bethlehem.
Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. Matthew 2:7-8 KJV
The wise men was to report back to the king Herod to let him know about the child born in Bethlehem. Did they do this? Let see as we continue in Matthew.
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. Matthew 2:11-12 KJV.
They didn’t return back to king Herod, because God told them not to go back. The wise men returned to their own country another way.
This is the end of the events for today. When we fall into the presence of God, when we see the glory of what Jesus can offer us we can’t go back. We have to press on and continue to proclaim the goodness of good. The wise me gave up the most important things they had at the time. Just as they offer things to Christ. Christ has offer his life to us.
Yes it was all in God’s plan and purpose. King Herod had his hand in it, the was men did their part. We must do our part to tell others the greatness of God. We need to proclaim it with power and boldness.
Let this seasons be great, let this season be one of joy. Knowing all that Jesus has done and is doing. We have life in Christ and he is able to save us and bring about a new life in us.
This is not the end of what Herod had in mind. The next point will be as the cries rang out. God plan is still working.
