As I was growing up I recall every Christmas, Luke chapter 2 was read. It was telling about Mary and how she gave birth to Jesus. One thing about Jesus birth was Mary was never touched by a man in a sexual encounter. How was this all possible.
First we have to go back into the Old Testament scriptures to see thing that suppose to take place.
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 KJV
How was this fulfilled like lets see.
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:20-23 KJV
This was said back in the Old Testament and again in the New Testament as to the witness of the birth of Jesus by the Mary.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11 KJV
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Luke 1:31-35 KJV
What was told in the Old Testament.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 KJV
Looking into the new testament about the same thing was said to the shepherds.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:8-11 KJV
You see this how it all started the birth of Jesus. The Messiah, Emmanuel, Prince of Peace. To understand all one must search and understand the scriptures. Many foretold the birth but it was given in parts.
Now we see first the angels coming to both Joseph and Mary giving them the same message. The message of hope and life. That Mary will have a son, you will call his name Jesus. Mary being a virgin didn’t understand the concept but Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit. No man touch her so the birth is know as the virgin birth.
Let the truth be told. Predicted years before it happened. A virgin will give birth to the Messiah, who name is Jesus Christ. He will be from the tribe of Judah a seed of Abraham. He will be a leader or king of Israel. He government shall be upon his shoulder. The birth will be in Bethlehem in the city of David.
How do we get to Bethlehem. In which was this came true. Tomorrow we will see the road to Bethlehem. How people was putting things in place without knowing it.
