A word for today is
Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:30-31 NIV
This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true. Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. John 21:24-25 NIV
At first glance you might be thinking you are reading the same scripture over, but you are not. John first tells us the purpose of his writing. Second set of scripture tell us that the disciples writings are the true events that happen in the life of Jesus.
Both set of scriptures are found at the end of John’s writings. He put them there to let us know Jesus did more than he could write. This is only some of many things that Jesus did. Second he wrote about Jesus so people would believe in him. Not just believe in him but realize he is the true Messiah, the Son of God. They that believe in the work of Jesus and believe on his name shall have life in the name of Jesus.
The belief goes beyond the surface, it penertrate all. Meaning heart, mind, soul, and body to the point we are on to he mission to live for him and no longer ourself.
Just take a second or third look into the life of Christ. Why he came, what was he to bring, how was he going to do it. Most of all look at all the people lives that changed in the name of Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
