SHINE THE LIGHT. LET OTHER SEE THE DANGER

In the book of John Jesus has made so many claims about himself. Today we are going to look at a claim he made. He is the light. Jesus is the only one in history that can make and stake this claim

Jesus as the light

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”John 8:12 NIV

While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
John 9:5 NIV

Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them.
John 12:35‭-‬36 NIV

Jesus the light of the world as we sing this song around Christmas time. In the above scriptures we see several things. First Jesus is the light in him is no darkness. Those who come to Christ has the light inside of them and also have life. In Christ we have life and have life to the fullest. Second thing we see is those that was walking with Christ at the time, he was telling them walk while you have the light for in many days you will not have the light, the physical body of Christ around much longer. He was telling them to believe in the light while he is there. Not only that but once you believe in the light that is Christ you will become the children of the light.

The light in us is Christ. We who believe in him has the light of him. We can now walk in the newness of the light. We no longer bound in darkness, but can walk and shine our light before others, just as Jesus did.

So much to understand about Christ being the light of the world. He who has Christ also can share our light to others so they can find their way out of the darkness. As the lighthouse guide the ships from hitting the rocks or getting into danger. We can warn others about the danger of living in sin and there is a way out and it is through our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ the Messiah.
