We at time look at Jesus as the Savior and the Lord over our life. Have we ever took time out to see the human side of Christ. The side if him that moved with compassion, the side of him that cared about things that was going on around him. Many came to Jesus and Jesus went to many so they could be healed or be delivered of what ever the situation might have been.
Today we not looking at the miracle per say put when Jesus just touches the heart of others by his words and actions.
Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. John 8:1-6 KJV
First we see Jesus teaching in the temple Later in the chapter we learn about what Jesus was teaching on. What a real lesson to be seen right in front of their eyes. It wasn’t about miracles, but about receiving the forgiveness from Christ as he could only do.
We see a woman caught in the act of adultery being brought to Jesus. The men went to Jesus and said in the time of Moses if a person had done this they would be stoned. They was trying to test and see what Jesus was going to do. Jesus didn’t say nothing he began to write on the ground. We don’t know what he wrote but it had an effect on those men that was accusing the woman of doing wrong. He didn’t say a word as he was stooping and writing something in the ground.
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. John 8:7-11 KJV
The second half of this is showing the compassion side of Jesus. They brought the woman to Jesus so she could be condemned. The truth of the matter it all back fired on them. While Jesus continue to write in the ground the accusers began to be convicted by their own conscience. They all left one by one until it was only Jesus and the Lady. What Jesus said could have been the icing on the cake. Those who is without sin cast the first stone. In other words why are you bringing her to me, and those things you have done is no worse then her sin.
Now Jesus with the woman say where are your accusers. Since nobody condemned you neither do I. All Jesus said is go and sin no more. I do think she had a change of heart and mind. To think about what Jesus said he didn’t condemned the woman and then to tell her to go and sin no more reminds me of someone being in the court of law. We have witnesses, we have those who was saying she did something wrong. We have Jesus who is the judge who has all power in his had. At the end of the day after what Jesus had said and wrote on the ground. The people walked and left the scene. Jesus had rested their case and found that nobody is above the law. One thing it’s true here is Jesus let the woman go. He was released and told not to sin no more. This is what I believe Jesus was telling her. Stop doing or behaving in that type of activity. I mean we all sin but we shouldn’t have a habit of doing the same sin over and over once we have had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ.
The truth of all of this Jesus knows and understand all. He was moved with compassion on the woman behalf. This showed us no matter how big or small the sin is. When we give it over to God, he will not condemn us. All I have to say is this no matter how it all seem. When people have accused you of s fault and they want to play that blame and shame game. They have to remember this. One day you might be on the other side of the fence. Jesus is the true judge and his word is his bond.
