This month we will continue to look at the encounters. Not the close encounter of the third kind but the encounters Jesus had with people that didn’t have to deal directly with miracles.
We look at Jesus as a man who did miracles, but what about his personal story that are found in the book of John. We have seen the story about the woman at the well and the story of Lazarus last week. This week we are going to look at the woman caught in adultery and then Nicodemus. He didn’t want to be seen by his peers so he meet up with Jesus in the middle of the night.
Those are personal encounters that we see Jesus having, but how will they end up and how did people walk away after facing the encounter with Jesus
A preview for this week to come is this. Jesus talking to Nicodemus
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:17-18 KJV
Part 2 is this Jesus talking to the woman.
When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. John 8:10-11 KJV
As we look this week into these to people let look at the action of others and the action of Christ. To show to us his compassion on people and no matter who you are a person in high office or a person who might done wrong things in life, Christ still loves and care for you.
Finally as we look at the personal encounter that Jesus had. Be reminded it’s not about the miracle but about loving on people no matter who they are. Most of all the reaction between the two people. To tell us all some might come to know Jesus, while others just walk away and think about what was said.
