Jesus delay Was for a purpose

We are looking at delays. We looking into how Jesus delay was for a reason and a purpose. Life for us causes things to happen. We might not understand it but once we see the entire picture than we know why.

Here is what the scriptures say what happens

His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already. And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house. Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.John 11:8‭, ‬11‭-‬14‭, ‬17‭, ‬19‭-‬21

The first point that was made Jesus said we was going to wake him from his sleep. It wasn’t a sleep of rest but a sleep of death. At this time we see God already had things working out before they knew it.

The second point was they blamed Jesus for Lazarus death. The lady said if you Jesus would have been here Lazarus would not have died. God is working it out even though we might not understand. We at time need to stop questioning God and ask him what is the reason behind this.

Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.John 11:23‭-‬27 KJV

The third point is Christ is the resurrection. In him we have life again. Those things that use to grip us before had no more hold on us. Once we let Christ come to change us it a whole new ballgame. It a new start and it’s like being resurrected from the dead. In Christ is life and not death. Hope for the future.

The fourth point is we must believe. We must believe in Christ and his life. What he did on the cross and that God raised him from the dead with all power in Jesus hands. To believe this is eternal life. The pathway to living a wonderful new life.

God said to stop with this point. To let us know Jesus delay proved to us that more was coming. Why would he stay 2 extra days. Jesus knew at this point it was a life changing event and those around would encounter something that was never done before.

Jesus said he is the resurrection and life. He can do things in your life you thought it was impossible. All we have to do is believe and receive from him. We do this from a heart and the mind that is ready and open to God’s truth,grace and love. Just ask him in today
