We have to stop a second and think about how can a delay be good.
When it comes to the natural man delays always ruffles people feathers. How about if we look at delays from a spiritual perspective.
Most can’t wait around 2 minute unless they get antsy. We can see than anywhere we go. From waiting on public transportation to shopping. Why caused delay in travel? It could be traffic, the bus, train or plane could had a mechanical problems. Safety first as the would say. Something other people could hold things up. For examples, in the grocery store a person might have gotten the wrong item. There could be a pricing error on the product. No matter what the hold up is people do get upset or mad because of the delay. It is now holding them up from getting to where they need to be.
Today we will look at Jesus when he took a delay and everyone said it was the wrong thing to do.
Today title is a delay that went wrong. Or it seems.
Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was. John 11:1-6 KJV
Here we see a man Lazarus was about to die. Mary called for Jesus to come and heal this man. Jesus stayed where he was for 2 extra days. He didn’t do this out of spite but he did this to show other who he is.
This seem to be a bad day for everyone, for it seemed but God and Jesus had things in control. They was about to do a miracle that will get the entire town talking.
