JESUS TOOK A DETOUR. A LIFE WAS CHANGE

We are once again looking at John chapter 4 verses 1-43. We will be looking at these verses to point out some key points.

First point is Jesus went across racial lines. Jesus said the need was to go through Samaria. It was a short cut between Judea and Galilee. They one thing we have to see here is the Jews and the Samaritans didn’t see eye to on on things. As we go out to spread the gospel we have to cross some lines and barriers

Second point the woman at the well. She came to the well where Jesus was. This is telling me we have to come to Jesus. Come to him just as we are.

Third she had a conversation with Jesus. It comes to the point we can’t hide anything from God, or Jesus they know it all.

Fourth is Jesus is the well of water. But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

In other words Jesus said once you receive from him the life inside of you will be like a well of water. A well of water continue to flow to the point we will never thirst again. Craving things that the flesh wants. When we have Christ we have everlasting life flowing up in us.

Fifth point we see here is truth is revealed. Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.John 4:16‭-‬18 KJV

Jesus told her the truth about her life and she thought he was a prophet but as Jesus continue to talk to her she began to understand who he is. When we get into s place where Jesus tells us our story, and let us know his truth by us listening to the preach word then when our heart, mind, are connected to the truth then we will understand and know the real truth about God.

Sixth point here was she really understand. She saw Jesus for who he is The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he. The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? Then they went out of the city, and came unto him. John 4:25‭-‬26‭, ‬28‭-‬30 KJV
When we see and understand all that Jesus has to offer us we will drop things and go tell other about Jesus and how he is a life changer. Just as she did. She went and told others about what Jesus said to her.

In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. John 4:31‭-‬34 KJV

The seventh point here is Jesus has to do the will of the Father. Not just that but to finish his work. Jesus said he must do the Father will send to finish it. Now since that is done Jesus gave us work to do and to go out and make disciples, baptizing them in the name if the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Teaching and training others to obey the command of God.

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did. So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. And many more believed because of his own word; And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee. John 4:39‭-‬43 KJV

The two final things are this many believed in Jesus and he was there two days more than he expected to be. Did Jesus knew this was going to take place. One stop at the wall and now many come to know Christ. When Jesus comes into our life, it should be a show stopper. They might have known what type of lady she was. Once they saw the change in her life, they knew something was different. They had to come out to see what made her change. It was because of Jesus.

Jesus said at the beginning he had need to go through Samaria and now we know the reason why. It started off with one and soon those around her came to know Christ in a personal way. Many lives was touched and change because of Jesus Christ during his time in Samaria. How about your has Jesus Christ touched your life in a personal way. Can you see who he really is. He us the sent one. The redeemer, the mighty to save. He died so we could live. Have life eternal. John 3:16. Be like the woman at the well have a personal encounter with Christ, and he can change your soul.
