Fear, the one word that don’t belong to believers in Christ. Why do you say this. Fear is opposite of faith. As believers in Christ we are operating our life out of faith and not fear. Yes we might be fearful at times because of the flesh, but don’t let fear consume us. We as believers in Christ shouldn’t be stop by fear, but walk by faith in God. Jesus himself said have faith in God. Our total concept should be living by faith and not in fear.
The Bible on many occasions speaks about fear and how we need to avoid it or don’t let it be part of our make up.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
We have the spirit of power, love and a sound mind. The world power is the ability to influence others. Taking that into consideration we can have a sound mind a clear mind and mind not control to fear but a mind that is filled with the love of God. As we walk into those things of Him then we won’t be control by fear. In God there is no fear.
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:12, 18 KJV
As we walk with Christ we also have to be reminded that fear is only from Satan and it is his way of stopping us to walk in our true destiny of God. Again God didn’t give us the spirit of fear. It only a false evidence of things appearing real. True faith block out fear.
The only fear we should have is the fear of God upon our life. This type of fear is out of respect and reverence because of who God is.
As we fear God or give him reverence, we will come to an understanding and knowledge of who he is and what are the promises he has for us. Out of this fear we will do as command us to do. Not going to the right or the left but walking the straight line with him.
Remember we as Christian need not to fear because God didn’t give us that type of spirit. If you do have some type of fear in your life just know this. Now since we are in Christ we are a new creature. We are made new and Christ lives within us. Therefore we have the power to overcome anything in our life that is holding us up from serving God. We have the mind of Christ and we no longer bound to the old ways of thinking. We are made new in him. Continue to walk in him and live for him. Control your fear and let not fear control your ways of thinking
