How do you spend your time? What are you interested in? What is on your mind most of the day? What amount of your time spend on following after the things of God?
Today we going to see why Abram followed after the things of God. In the middle of it all when people had no reverence to God but yet one man he trusted and obey God in a way no others at this time would. What made the bond between God and Abram so unique? What was his return or reward for doing those things God had him to do.
To answer all these questions on have to look at the life of Abram and see how it all began and why did he loved God like no other. First thing as I notice with Abram is heart was hidden with God. Since his heart was hidden with God, he learned to trust and obey in what God was telling him through out the years. At the age of 75 we see the move. It was that time when God told Abram to get out among your family and leave the land I have is greater for you. I do think there was a great connection between God and Abram that is way the Lord was always talking to Abram. The way we knew Abram walked with and honor God, because after God told Abram to leave, he built and alter. A way to show reverence to God at that time
7 And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the Lord, and called upon the name of the Lord.9 And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south. Genesis 12:7-9
Not only did he built an alter but he called upon the name of the Lord there as well. When we walk and talk with God or Jesus we will have a heart for him and be willing to do those things that God wants us to do without any doubt in our mind.
Abram had trust and faith in God, God spoke to Abram because he was committed to serve and obey the true and living God. With Abram action and as he followed the ways of the Lord, Abram was blessed and as the scripture it said on many occasions Abram name will be great and he will be the father of many nations. Years later his name was great and he did become the father of many nations.
Just like Abram when we walk and talk with God, and Jesus, doing those things they want us to do for them then our life will be bless. We can be a blessing to others by telling them the Good News of Jesus Christ. When we give our time, energy and effort to in the service of God, no matter what it could be, God will give back to us as we have given to him. The return on investing in the things of God will be great both in this world and in heaven. Know now that how you put your time into serving God or investing into God is how your reward will be. If you put little time into serving and obeying God you will reap a little but if you but all into serving God without doubt or fear than you will reap a harvest of blessing within its season. Great joy will come. God will bless you and the blessing could come by any means necessary.
Go in peace and live your life worthy of God. Continue to invest in the things of God and see the manifestation of God come true according to
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. LUKE 6:38
