We are still talking about Abram his journey to Abraham. He made some great choices, yet he made some wrong decisions along the way. He invested in the things of God. He wasn’t like most during his time, because he had faith in God. It was his faith in God, that he was blessed by God to be the father of many nations, and his name will be great.
In Chapter 13 we see a name of faith who made a right decision compare to what he did while in Egypt. It came a time when some of his people had strife with his nephew Lots people. He gave Lot the option which way he wanted to go. Lot decided to head toward the city of Sodom and Gomorrah.
As we look at serval things with Genesis Chapter 13 we see the person Abram trying to make peace within the camp. When we invest in the things of God, he will give us the insight how to handle problems that might rise up. God will always provide the solution to each and everything. On the other hand Lot thought the city would be more better place to live. He gather all and went forth to the city of Sodom and Gomorrah. Sometimes if we don’t allow God to help us out we will walk into something we will regret.
What Lot thought would be great ended up to look not so wonderful. When we do invest in God he will not lead us down the wrong pathway. It is those things that could happen once we don’t fully trust and believe in God.
Finally are you investing in things of God? When situations arise do you seek God on each occasion. When strife come in the midst of things do you pray and listen for the answer from God. Abram he invested in things of God. He worshiped, pray, and seek God many times, but still had doubts on some things God said. To end it all up as we continue to have faith and do as Christ has commanded us to do many blessing will come our way.
Just remember the verse that ties in with these lesson Luke 6:38
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 6:38 KJV
The next study we will see how Abram was bless because he invested in God. He gave what he knew how to serve God.
