I was doing some thinking about what Jesus said in John 4:24 God is spirit and they that worship Him must worship him in spirit and truth. Two key words are spirit and truth. When a person come to worship God it not the fleshly nature but in our spiritual nature and know that we also worship Him in truth. Knowing who he is and what he has done for us through his son Jesus Christ.
The Question for today are Christian really worshiping God in Spirit and in truth?
When it comes to worship God we are worshiping him and following the ways of JESUS and being led by the Holy Spirit. We worship no other person or things other than God, and his son Jesus Christ. In Christ our relationship to God is restored. We are wash clean or in other words Christ was the ransom which paid it all when he died on the cross. People must believe and receive this for their sins to be forgiven. JESUS said there is no other way to God the father except through him. Jesus also said to those who believe in him he gives them the right to become the children of God. Since we are the children of God do have eternal life. our mortal body will die but out soul will live with him in paradise forever, that is what it’s all about.
When it comes to worship do we worship God from a pure heart or is it just a form of worship? Pure heart is nothing else is blocking our love toward God and Jesus Christ. When we worship God is it out of tradition or respect and reverence towards God? Knowing that God wants our true worship. when worship him from the spiritual man, not the fleshy state, then God works things within use and it’s an ever ending. We grow more in our relationship with God shedding off the old self. Our mind is being renewed daily because of us growing in God and in Jesus Christ his son.
This week worship as we worship God let it be more real and truthful. Not a form but from a real love and let your spirit man connect with the spirit of God in a whole new way.
Be true to yourself, to others and mostly to God.
