JULY 18  2018 LUST

This month we are challenge people to go deeper into the things of God. From praying, and praising God to reading and studying the Bible. Each day is a different word to meditate on. Today’s word is LUST.  What was very interesting about this word is that started the down fall of men. The reason why is found in Genesis 3:6-7 This type of lust is a craving for something, not in a sexual way.  Couple things i want to point out. She saw it was good for food, second it could make one wise. knowing those two things she took action and ate of that tree. Because of her action and reaction it caused a ripple effect in the land when she gave it to her husband their eyes were open. There is a price to pain when we are living for God but still craving things of the world. How can we lust after things of the world once our heart, mind soul and body belongs to Christ.  As I continue on one point hit me and it was from 1 john 2:15-17 talks about what we as christian need to do since we love God we shouldn’t crave things of he world and the lust thereof. Those things of the world is not of God. I was also reminded of this the world will pass away and all of the lust thereof, but he that do the will of God will abide for ever.  Really hit me hard knowing those earthly thing and its craving will pass away but if will continue to have a heart for God and do as he ask us to do and abide in him, not craving those things of the world we have a place in His kingdom forever.

Finally Christians live for Christ, we have a new mindset. we have a new way of thinking. Let crave the things of God, his righteousness, putting on the new man daily. Not walking in the ways of the world but in the light of Christ. Continually putting on the LORD  JESUS CHRIST, making no room for  worldly lust that comes from the flesh.  THE CHALLENGE FOR US AS BELIEVERS IN CHRIST walk upright in the sight of God, letting no corrupt things get in our way to the point it is controlling us but we are controlling it by the power of the Holy Spirit that live in you.  Be true to yourself and to others, most of all live a life worthy of God praises.
